THE NATURALIST PATH
A guided way to reconnect with the living world.
Let's Grow Together
Many people feel the pull toward nature but do not know where to begin. The Naturalist Path is a simple way to move from curiosity to confidence. It blends foundational courses, immersive field experiences, and optional one-on-one guidance so that you can learn at a pace that feels natural.
Rather than overwhelming you with information, this path introduces the essentials first. As your awareness grows, you begin to see more patterns, more connections, and more possibilities in the natural world.
You can start anywhere along the path. Some begin with a single course. Others join an expedition. Many choose to work directly with Rob to build a personal learning journey.
Step 1
Build the Foundations
These courses introduce the core knowledge every naturalist should understand. They are designed to be practical, engaging, and immediately useful in the field.
The Courses
Edible Plants
Yes, you can eat the grasses, weeds and nuts in the wild, but only if you know how.
Fungi in a Day
In a day you'll be able to identify the safest and easiest mushrooms to eat in the forest.
Amanita Mini-course
We got this mushroom wrong and it's not the deadly mushroom is was painted to be.
Step 2: Work with a Guide
Many people benefit from having a guide as they begin learning about nature. Through one-on-one sessions, Rob can help you clarify your goals and design a path that fits your interests.
Some people want to...
- learn how to forage.
- deepen their naturalist skills.
- build a lifestyle that reconnects them with the natural world.
A first session is often used to explore your goals and map out a personal learning path.
From there you might continue with:
- Occasional coaching sessions to deepen your learning
- Guidance on which courses to take next
- Preparation for field experiences or expeditions
- Personalized mentorship in naturalist skills
