About the site:

During the Summer of 2005 Michael Grodowitz of the US Army Corp of Engineers, Invasive Plant Division hired Rob Nelson to document some of America's Worst Weeds. Its a job that Rob is quickly undertook with the help of biologist Hazen Audel. Both are expert naturalists and trained biologists that are seeking to teach others about this world's natural wonders.

As a college undergrad, Rob worked for three years as an Aquatic Plant Research facility in Lewisville Texas. They studied the impact that invasive plants have on native aquatic ecosystems. What he discovered in his time there was that the world has a major problem on their hands ... silent invaders on a biological level.

"Hello. I'm Rob Nelson and my goal in life is to teach others about the biological diversity of this planet. You may have seen me in adventure documentaries through Hawaii, Alaska, or Mexico. Now, I'm undertaking a mission to video as many of our countries invasive plants as I can."

"One thing I've been shocked about when studying biodiversity is the outstanding number of invasive species. Sometimes it seems that everything we see is now a cosmopolitan species. How can these invaders be stopped? The answer is through community support and education."

"I urge everyone to learn about your natural world. Know what is native and what's not so that you can do your part in saving what we have left!"

The vision for this project came from biologist Michael Grodowitz.
