Oxalidaceae: Sorrel Family.This family has 8 genera and about 800+ species (Carr). Most individuals in this family have some sort of oxalic acid in their tissues. For instance, Sorrels, Oxalis spp., which are commonly called clovers, are a great plant to throw on salads for some extra spice. Other plants in this family are the star fruits and pickle fruits, all of which provide a tart treat to the taste buds.
Systematics: Has 5 separate styles and styles are distinct. The number of stamen are twice the number of petals . The stamen are also in two whorls and the outer one is opposite the petals (obdiplostemenous).
